Art, I'm really sorry not to be able to make it. I have a command performance here to make a
presentation to other chairs on Friday.
Brief bio: BA and MA Brown, PhD Michigan
Taught Russian at U New South Wales, Sydney, 1973 & 1974. At U South Florida since 1975
- am currently chair of languages.
Fond memories (some of which are also pre MS days):
Playing ball with Joe Doktor, Francis Glasz, George Weir, George Pelis, Vie Zumbruski,
Gene Wagner, Steve Warren, Steve Gervickas and all the rest.
Cheering for the Celtics with David Marden.
Exploring the Pelham hills with Carl Goodrich.
Andy Horton, aka JL Lewis, sorry that's indelible, I shouldn't bring it up but can't help it.
George Weir, and Wes Cutting, and Ken Brown - always and everywhere.
I wonder whether it would be appropriate to say a word about near classmates, such as Paul Joy, '63, and John Grose, '61, both of whom so many of us knew so well and about whom there is not enough time or paper to tell all the stories.
Finally, I'm a married sort of a guy and still ever so shy, but I've just got to say that there are so many marvelous women in our class, so I hope the guys will drink a toast to them while standing (that's the Russian tradition).
Best regards, Vic
